Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons pumpkin puree
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup brewed coffee or 1 shot of espresso

Instructions

  • In a small saucepan, combine the milk, pumpkin puree, sugar, and pumpkin pie spice. Whisk together until well combined. Heat the mixture over medium heat, whisking frequently, until it is hot but not boiling.
  • Once the mixture is hot, remove it from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Brew your coffee or pull a shot of espresso. Pour the coffee into a mug, then pour the milk mixture over the coffee. Use a spoon to hold back the foam as you pour.
  • If you have a milk frother, you can use it to froth the milk mixture before pouring it over the coffee.
  • Garnish your latte with whipped cream and a sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice.

Notes

  1. Use real pumpkin puree: Instead of using pumpkin-flavored syrups or sauces, use real pumpkin puree to add flavor and richness to your latte. Canned pumpkin puree works well and is readily available at most grocery stores.
  2. Choose the right milk: The type of milk you use can have a big impact on the flavor and texture of your latte. Whole milk or a plant-based milk such as oat milk or almond milk will give your latte a rich and creamy texture, while skim milk may result in a thinner and less flavorful latte.
  3. Invest in a milk frother: A milk frother can help you achieve the perfect texture and foam for your latte. You can purchase an electric milk frother or use a handheld frother to create a velvety foam for your latte.
