Number one favorite dish to serve for a party, these Italian Pesto Sliders are a threat! They are easy to make and feed a lot of people. The best thing is that there is no fuss in the kitchen afterwards.

I can’t think of anything easier to make for a bunch of people than sliders, they are done in just 30 minutes and what you need basically is just some slider buns, fillings, and a pesto sauce.

I love chicken so had in my fridge some rotisserie chicken ready to go, but this is optional, you can replace with other fillings as well, I put some examples at the end of this post for your inspiration.

As I’m always receiving friends at home, I tend to bring different dishes to them so I’m always on the hunt for good and easy dinner ideas (like this Italian Style Garlic Bread, this Easy Torta Salata and this Ricotta and Spinach Stuffed Chicken.

But once I served these to my friends, everyone was literally talking about how delicious it was, we were looking at each other when it was over, so I had to run make some more cause you can never get enough of it!

Ingredients list

  • 9 slider buns
  • 7 ounces (2 cups) cooked rotisserie chicken, or other things
  • 6 tablespoons pesto sauce
  • 2 cups grated mozzarella cheese
  • 3 tablespoons butter, at room temperature
  • 2 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 2 tablespoon scallions, chopped

How to make Italian Pesto Sliders

  1. Slice a whole loaf of slider buns lengthwise and carefully removing the top side. 
  2. Layer the cooked chicken followed by the pesto sauce and use a spoon to spread evenly. Spread the mozzarella cheese and replace the bun top.
  3. To a small bowl, add the sliced scallions with butter and mix with a spoon.
  4. Brush the buns with melted butter mixed with green onions and garlic.
  5. Bake for 20 minutes at 360ºF/180°C to melt the cheese and lightly brown the sliders.
  6. Enjoy!

Storage

Store the Italian Pesto Sliders in an airtight container for up to 4 days in the fridge. To reheat, bake in the oven at 212ºF/100ºC for 20 minutes.

Suitable for home freezing for up to 3 months. To reheat, bake in the oven at 212ºF/100ºC for 30 minutes.

As the Italian Pesto Slider is a versatile dish, you can do with pretty much anything you have in your fridge, you can use as a filling:
