Here is a simple, quick, and delicious recipe for your get-togethers that will feed your crowds. These are perfect pull-apart Chicken BBQ Sliders that are so gooey!
I am a lover of mini Hawaiian sliders, really. When you think of value for money that’s what I’m talking about. They are so cheap and easy to make and will feed a bunch of people.
I love making these when I’m on a budget and have to receive guests and make party foods. They always love it and I spend just a couple of bucks. It’s a win-win situation.
The variations of these sandwiches are endless, this is my favourite but I also have another incredible recipe you can try: Italian Pesto Sliders.
What goes with Chicken BBQ Sliders?
The best bet to accompany sliders is always french fries. They make such a great duo like burgers, but you can also try other potato recipes like mash and loaded potatoes.
Here’s a list of my suggestions:
- French fries
- Mash potatoes
- Loaded potatoes
- Potato salads, like this delicious Russian salad
- Cold Italian pasta salad
- Nachos
- Baked beans
- Onion rings
- Corn on the cob
- Coleslaw
What kind of BBQ sauce should I use for sliders?
My suggestion is always to use the BBQ sauce of your preference or make your own. Store-bought BBQ sauces are very different in taste and texture, so if buying them, look for a brand you are familiar with or famous brands like Heinz.
It makes such a difference using the right BBQ sauce on your recipe.

FAQs
What chicken is best for shredding?
This recipe calls for grilled and shredded chicken, and the best cut for this is skinless chicken breasts or skinless and boneless chicken thighs.
Chicken breasts are easier to shred but they are drier than thighs, as the latter will have extra moisture and flavour. But both work just fine.
As long as you don’t use skins and bones any cut of chicken should work fine, even turkey.
How to cook chicken breasts for shredding
The easier way to cook chicken breasts is by boiling them in water for 10 to 15 minutes until the centre of the chicken is cooked through. The internal temperature should be at 165ºF. Don’t overcook or the chicken will become rubbery.
How do you shred chicken breast?
There are two simple techniques to shred the chicken:
- By hand:
With two forks, stick one into the piece of cooked chicken and pull shreds with the other one. You can do it with your hands, but if the chicken is at room temperature.
- With a food processor:
Simply add the chicken pieces to a food processor and pulse for a couple of seconds just to pull apart smaller pieces of chicken. Don’t over-process, otherwise, the chicken will turn into a paste.
- With an electric mixer
Place the chicken pieces into a large bowl and shred them with the electric mixer by pressing the mixer onto the chicken. Use the low speed.
